Lisa Johnson graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language & Literature from William Jewell College in 1994. She has worked in a number of fields over her career, assisting architects and engineers, teaching freshman composition at Saint Louis University for 3 years, and serving in animal welfare for 8 years, including 7 years as Intake Supervisor at the Cherokee County Animal Shelter. Her love of nature and wildlife began early in her home state of Missouri where she spent summers camping and hiking. This love of nature led her to join Keep Cherokee Beautiful as a charter board member in September 2022, where she currently serves as Treasurer and Secretary. Lisa participates in dozens of cleanups year-round with various groups, including KCB, the Allatoona Lake Warriors, and the Upper Etowah River Alliance. She also volunteers with Georgia Dog Advocates, a non-profit that provides free dog food, free spay-neuter, and other assistance. Lisa organizes quarterly cleanups of two different roads – 1 mile of Bells Ferry Road (adopted by the Allatoona Lake Warriors) and 2.5 miles of Hickory Road from Newlight Road to East Cherokee (adopted by Bradshaw & Harmony Friends). In her free time, Lisa and her husband, Graham, enjoy exploring the beautiful hiking trails of north Georgia. They have resided in Cherokee County since 2007.
